Making new school friends does not stop in the classroom. The children really enjoy being able to play and learn in both classrooms, as well as in the outdoor classroom during free-flow sessions. It is great to join in with their games and see them collaborating in their fun. As a unit we love singing and dancing; we have been learning the 'Jelly Bear Rap' in PE. The children also love sharing their favourite songs and nursery rhymes and often teach us and their friends.

Settling in
As I
am sure you can all agree the first few weeks of term have been extremely busy
and exciting for all of us! The children have settled really well into the new
school routines. The morning starts with 'finger strong' where the children are
building strong shoulder, arm and finger muscles through a variety of
structured activities.

Meeting
their Year 6 buddies has certainly been one of the highlights of the past few
weeks! As well as playing games with the children at lunch times they have been
coming in to class once a week to get to know their buddy even better. This
culminated in the Reception children showing Year 6 their learning from the
topic 'Marvellous Me!'. Being able to draw round their friends with big chalks
on the playground was an exciting way to end the week!
